Art School Crash Course! July Session

Always wanted to go to art school but never got the chance?? Here’s your opportunity to take a crash course on some of the most important lessons learned in a fun and distilled way!

Each week of this 4-week course will cover a different broad topic, with a short lecture and hands-on art activity to drive home the lesson’s concept. Weekly topics include: developing an artist’s eye through careful observation, color theory basics and how to use them to your advantage, spatial awareness and using grid drawing as a tool, and “make it darker”– the importance of value. Students will work in a variety of media in this fun and engaging course, some supplies provided.

• Drawing pad– 18″x24″
• Graphite drawing pencils and eraser
• Vine Charcoal (medium-soft)
• Kneaded eraser
• Charcoal Blending Stumps (assorted)
• 1 standard black Sharpie pen (Not fine point)
